Liz Aulette, DVM
Dr. Liz Aulette-Root grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and moved to South Africa to attend college completing her undergraduate degree at University of the Western Cape and her Master’s degree at the University of Cape Town. During her studies she worked as a volunteer caring for injured penguins and pelicans. Before deciding to become a veterinarian, Dr. Aulette-Root taught English in Mexico where she became fluent in Spanish. Dr. Aulette-Root graduated with honors from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine after completing her clinical year at the Royal Veterinary College in London, England. Besides emergency medicine for dogs and cats, Dr. Aulette-Root is especially interested in avian medicine, surgery and ophthalmology. When she is not working Dr. Aulette-Root volunteers at the Carolina Raptor Center, and enjoys music, bird watching and spending time with her cat Steve.
